1) Is my aircraft eligible for U.S. Registration?

The aircraft is eligible for Registration if it is not registered in any other country. The Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, a Resident Alien or a Corporation.

2) How do I register my aircraft with the FAA?


In order to register the aircraft with the FAA, the FAA will require a Bill of Sale and an Application for Registration.

3) Can I register an aircraft under a LLC?

Yes.

4) Can I register an aircraft under a Personal or Family Trust?

5) How do I register an Amateur-Built Aircraft?

In order to register the aircraft with the FAA, the FAA will require an Affidavit of Ownership for Amateur Built Aircraft and an Application for Registration.

7) How do I register an imported aircraft?


The FAA will require confirmation of de-registration statement from the foreign country, a Bill of Sale and an Application for Registration.

8)  Why do I need a Title search?

A Title Search needs to be performed to insure lien status and ownership.

9) How do I know when my aircraft’s certificate will expire?

Registered owners will receive a written notice from the FAA of their registration expirations 180 days prior to the expiration date.

10) What will happen if aircraft owners do not re-register their aircraft?

If the registered owner does not re-register their aircraft before the deadline, the certificate of registration will be immediately cancelled and the aircraft will be grounded. The aircraft may also lose its registration number.

11) How can King Aircraft Title, Inc. help with registering my aircraft?

King Aircraft Title, Inc. will notify you that your documents are received and filed with the FAA. We review the documents prior to filing to determine they meet FAA requirements and correct any problems before filing with the FAA. Once the documents are recorded with the FAA, we will notify you and return any necessary documents. Upon request, King Aircraft Title, Inc. can provide a title search update after recording.

12) Can King Aircraft Title, Inc. help me with my escrow needs?

As escrow agent, we will perform a Title Search on the aircraft and/or engines. We will prepare all the necessary documents, hold the deposit and/or purchase funds in escrow and hold all documents in escrow until we receive written authorization from all parties.

13) Can King Aircraft Title, Inc. help me with my Title Search needs?

Our Title Search will show the FAA registration number, make, model and serial number. As well as the registered owner, previous owner and lien status. Most title searches are performed within 24-48 hours. Please

14) Does my aircraft qualify under The Cape Town Treaty and International Registry of Mobile Assets?

Aircraft and Aircraft Engines Eligible for International Registry Recording:

     • Airframes that are type certificated to transport:
          – At least eight (8) persons including crew; or
          – Goods in excess of 2750 kilograms (6050 pounds)

     • Helicopters that are type certificated to transport:
          – At least five (5) persons including crew; or
          – Goods in excess of 450 kilograms (990 pounds)


     • Jet propulsion aircraft engines with at least 1750 pounds of thrust or its equivalent.


     • Turbine-powered or Piston-powered aircraft engines with at least 550 rated take-off

        horsepower or its equivalent.
15) Can King Aircraft Title, Inc. help with my International Registry needs?

King Aircraft Title, Inc. can register parties as a Transacting User Entity (TUE) with the International Registry and act as the entity’s Administrator. This will allow our office to approve or deny any authorizations.
